According to his labels, over the course of his career Valenzano worked in at least seven cities in three different countries, and he allegedly made keyboard instruments of all kinds in addition to guitars and violins. An abbreviated account of his travels would trace his origins in Italy, followed by a 16-year sojourn in Spain starting in 1797, two years in France from 1813-1815, a decade in Trieste, and finally his return to Rome in 1825, where he died around 1830. Valenzano's nomadic tendencies and wide-ranging professional pursuits have made him a challenging figure for experts to pin down, and the style of his work is as varied as his personal history. His craftsmanship is skillful nonetheless, and his instruments are well regarded for their tonal qualities.Antique Rome 1825 JOHANNES MARIA VALENZANO 4/4 Violin w/ Case & 29" ALFONS RIEDL BowThe Violin is in Antique condition and is in need of restoration if it is to be seriously used.
